Connected Energy is responsible for innovating, developing, and delivering a portfolio of new products, services, and business models in the Downstream Energy space aiming to meet the energy needs (today and tomorrow) of commercial, industrial, and institutional customers. It deploys, aggregates, and monetizes distributed energy resources (DERs). Our fully-wrapped DER solutions enable load flexibility, lower energy costs, resilient power, and sustainable electricity supply and include:

  • Energy Efficiency (lighting, HVAC, refrigeration)
  • Energy Management (controls and metering)
  • Back-up Power (diesel gensets and gas engines)
  • Solar and Storage
  • Utility Bill & Sustainability Analysis and Reporting

This position offers the opportunity to work with Connected Energy’s North American Products team in Cambridge, Massachusetts and will have the following responsibilities:

  • Update the 5 year business plan and financial targets for the group’s existing line of business based on inputs from the sales, marketing, and operations functions.
  • Develop business plans and financial projections for new product launches at the direction of the product development team
  •  Support the negotiation of commercial deals with new potential channel and product partners
  • Analyze energy industry reports, compile market statistics and deliver insights to the team.
  • Provide ad hoc support to team members, as needed

Job Description:

This role supports development of infrastructure for zero-emission vehicles powered by hydrogen fuel cells. The Hydrogen Product Strategy Analyst position is a cross-product role requiring strong analytical skills. You will support the product strategy team primarily by carrying out financial and technical analyses of new capabilities available in several global regions. Your work will support the development of new products, the strategy to reduce the cost of hydrogen fueling, and the business development team’s ability to sell more and larger deals. You may also support other major projects with analyses as needed.

 

From the Boston office, you will carry out analysis for all of our core markets: California and other parts of the US, Europe, and China. In addition, the strategy team will craft strategies for products in non-core markets. The analyses will be mostly done in Excel and you will need to demonstrate the ability to understand and present the major cost drivers and opportunities in the industry.

Job Description:

This role has been established on a short-term project basis, paid hourly, with working hours ranging from 20-30 hours per week based on the needs of the project.  There is great flexibility as to the schedule that you would be able to work, but the hours worked should be during normal business hours, roughly 9 AM to 5 PM, and the schedule chosen should remain fairly consistent from week to week.

You will be responsible for developing and executing test and verification plans for new product offerings in light duty, heavy duty, marine, and off-road vehicle applications of Hydrogen business. You will also play a role in positioning technical solutions for rapid and effective deployment for a growing portfolio of products. These new products will directly support developing business opportunities, making Shell New Energies the partner of choice in helping regions and countries to meet their emissions targets.

You will be part of the New Fuels Hydrogen Product and Technology Management team. You will work with Contracts & Procurement, Finance, and Business Opportunity Managers across different countries, programs and cross-functional teams to help build out Shell’s next generation hydrogen technical offerings worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Using Systems Thinking/Systems Engineering principles & Lean ways of working with a focus on:
    • Transform customer requirements, use cases, and functional requirements into actionable test plans
    • Manage subsystem interface and systems integration verification testing
    • Create engineering development test plans, factory acceptance test plans, and site commissioning tests
    • Develop reliability focused tests based on environmental factors, expected product life, and equipment duty cycles (traditional cyclic fatigue tests, HALT, HASS, etc.)
    • Perform JSAs, HAZIDs, Safety Risk Assessments, readiness reviews, and final walk throughs on newly developed tests
    • Lead, coordinate, or monitor the facility buildouts at supplier facilities to accommodate newly designed tests

    • Conduct critical maintainability and testability demonstrations to confirm products can achieve contractual Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety requirements
